There has been a lot of activity on categories lately, particularly the addition of a working class category. The original organization was "Nobility", "Middle" and "Servants". Perhaps better terms would be "Nobility", "Professional class" and "Working class". Then there could be sub-categories under Professional class of "Doctor", "Lawyer", "Clergy", "Teacher", and other positions generally requiring a university education such as newspaper editors. The sub-categories under Working class could include Servants, Farmers (or Labourers), Merchants, etc.
It would also do a better job of categorizing someone like Sara Bunting, as a teacher should really fall under professional class rather than working class. As an aside, an important distinction at this poiint since it is just emerging from the period when there really were only two professions open to women, and teaching was the only one that could be mentioned in polite company.
