Wow! The Royal Family of Britain certainly managed to avoid a scandal.
Robert Crawley would never support blackshirts. He is a conservative, not a fascist.
Just to add, while he did start as a conservative, Oswald Mosely was a minister in Ramsay MacDonald's Labour government. Given Robert's view of MacDonald and Labour, it would seem highly unlikely he'd be supporting the blackshirts.
I wonder if Mosley might be mentioned by somone at the dinner table sometime. Maybe if Gregson returns he could mention Hitler and/or other(s) who would become prominent Nazis.
He's a useful idiot, an ignoramous of Olympian proportians who has been unemployed his entire freakin' life! He supports Charles Ponzi!
I think he knew nothing of Charles Ponzi's scheme at that time. He was trying to resist change and continue investing, which of course is what got him into trouble in the first place in season 3 (so had he gone in he would've been a victim).
Robert may be a kind and caring landlord, but he certainly is not a good businessman.
Ignore him - he's trying to wind you up.
What do you think?
