LOVE the show but enough with the Bates muder story line. Seriously! It's time for Fellows to move on and come up with another story line for them. Kill them, jail them, drown them in the pond, whatever - but please move on!

Agreed. I fast-foward through every Banna scene. Sorry Banna shippers, but this is getting annoying. I want to see Chelsie as the focus of Season 6. Carson and Hughes take care of the ENTIRE house and they keep it running. I think the focus has been on the Bates' storyline, Green's murder, and "Mary's men". Some other couples, like Chelsie and Baxley, deserve attention.
I used to love them. Anna was a sweetheart and Bates was so nice and smart. I have a special fondness for May/December romances. Whenever I rewatch the early episodes (meaning the first and the second season) I love watching their common scenes especially when Anna is ill and Bates brings her food.
But now they are BORING.
Well since we know now there willl be an ending to the mystery of Green's death, there may be hope that something new will happen in their storyline.
I personally love the Bates' storyline all the drama and mystery. Sad the show has ended though:-(
I have a question about it: how many people knows about Anna being raped? Banna and Mrs Hughes, I suppose, but the others members of the staff or something? Why they thought Bates could have murder Green?
Personally, I love the bates saga. I think they are totally the cutest couple on the show!!!! I wish we could just see them happy more instead of one in jail, then the other, etc.
Well I guess they are lucky that they are not in the upper class with servants of their own. Otherwise, as is common practice, the servants would take to calling their son, young master bates. lol
I personally loved their storyline I feel if someone made a montage of all their clips I would be weeping for days, but that's just my opinion. I think I just like it when my favourite character -Anna- has all the interesting, dramatic and heartwrenching storylines there were times when I wanted to see more the reaction of everyone when theyfound out about her **spoiler** rape, for her to maybe of been pregnant with Mr Greens child. I was just always itching for the plot to thicken don't get me wrong I adore there storyline and wouldn't want to mess with the beauty that is Jullian Fellows and his writing he does everything subtly and calm still with the shadow of drama overcasting it. Basically I was fine with the storyline/ "saga".
I love their story. Anna really gets us to care about her. While Anna is a saint with just enough flaws to keep her human, John Bates is a very complex character and is very consistently portrayed. He is good but there is something dark in him.
If you watch the series enough times to really understand the characters, you will find that the root of Banna's problems is IGNORANCE and/or foolish pride. They both act with ignorance and foolishness in most all of their situations. The arsenic... Bates wouldn't tell the police about buying it because he ignorantly thought he would be asking for trouble. The stolen snuff box and the stolen wine, tell the truth. Anna and pregnancy... ignorance. Bates... TELL SOMEONE WHAT VERA WAS GOING TO SAY!!! Don't tell Robert, "Some silly nonsense, I wouldn't waste your time with it." All you cutesy romantics... Bates and Anna were ignorant simpletons and their storyline sometimes dragged the series to frustrating crawl. Separately, they were great; together frustrating.
