Sounds more like Edith's territory, as Mary doesn't even drive. Bear in mind, at the end of series five it will still be over three years before Amelia Earhart rides across the Atlantic, as, in her words, a sack of potatoes.

Owning a plane sounds good to me, but Ehj666 makes a strong argument against it.
On another topic--Mary's suitors--where is Evelyn Napier? During Season Four, people who commented on the IMDb about the series thought he would win Mary's hand.

It did strike me that ending up with Evelyn would really bring the show full circle. She'll bemoan being such a fool with the whole Turk business and how she could have spared herself all the disgrace by just settling for "boring" old Evelyn in the firest place. I'd be perfectly happy if the show ends with Edith in love and living an exciting life in London and Mary feeling bored and jealous!
