No, I think that was more of a joke. She never even committed anything treasonable as far as I know.

A horribly written and performed scene, a pathetic scene. Cora says Pregnant? Arrested for Treason? It made no sense. It wasn't funny. They rushed the scene so badly. Why did they do that?! I say again It Made No Sense! Robert had something important to say about Edith but Cora treated it as a Joke. Cora had a Hospital event on Friday and may not be able to go. A monumental event for Edith and Cora's reaction was awful. Corriea Mattina
Yeah, that kind of cheesed me off as well. Edith always seems to take second or even third priority for Cora. Heck, she's not even a priority.
4/13/16 10:18a Wikia Downton Abbey contributor: 220.127.116.11 There is another scene related to this scene with Robert and Cora about Edith. Tom Barrow/Miss Baxter are polishing Boots/Shoes. Barrow mumbles something I can't make it out. I've seen this scene many times. Finally it became clear. Barrow said Lady Edith had called late last night and Mr. Carson had knocked on Robert's door and he went down to take the phone call. Why do they mumble their lines? This scene was so important why not show it? What is even weirder do the Producers/Writer Fellowes believe were brain dead. Barrow tells Baxter to take the power away from Coyle. Barrow was blackmailing Baxter to Spy on the Family. Baxter saved his Life Twice. This scene was useless! Baxter listen to Molesley!
What do you think?
