Every character had her own moments, i think that is about the journey of each character:

1. Edidh and Molesley: at the start of the series both of them are pathetic figures, most of the time petty and jelaous of others, Molesley even avoided being sent to the army, Edith betray the family with the letter. But both of them evolve, and that is the important thing, the Edith of series 6 is another person compared to the Edith of series 1; same with Molesle. Both of them, found their place, and their place was out of Downton. And in the end were the most strong characters, not matter what the live can throus to them, they picked themselves, they dusted and carry on in trying to find happiness; and most of the time without the help of others.

2. Daisy, Gwen, Molesley, to some extent Thomas: they represented the downstairs people who wanted to improve themselves, Thomas even tried by illegal means (the food thing). They were aware that the system was unfair and they could do better. The problem, is that JF is very conservite or right wing, so he always portrayed them as stupids and rude, when in reality their children are the ones who are going to win the ww2, create the NHS and the welfare in the future. The Crawleys and the aristocracy are merely surviving, clinging to their possetions and no longer they are going to be make the history of England like in the past.

3. Robert: the most likely thing about Robert is that even in his clumsy ways he tried to connect with the present and more important with his daughters. Is very telling when he confronted Edith about Marigold, he told Edith that he also needed her forgivennes, and in series 6 he is always praising her and and her work, the same with Mary by encouraging her to work in the estate.

- Violet: i like the character but i almost think about her, like the true villain, is her, with her schemes who tries by every mean to stop the progress (the hospital), she didnt stop Edith by going and having an abortion, she was the one who wanted to send Marigold to France.
- Carson: very similar to Violet, he is the one who doesnt want to anything change, he doesnt believe in self improvement, he critized Daisy because she was studying, bullied Thomas, he represented the worse of the victorian era.
- Mary: even by being the protagonist, the character had little evolution, ok, she married a man without tittle, but she doesnt marry a simply coal miner. Her best moment it was when she understood and was sympathetic with Lavinia, when she saw that Lavinia loved Matthew much as her, and didnt sabotaged their relation. Sadly, JF, never explored more that side and Mary keep behaving herself as the spoiled brat of series 1, she showed a lot of compassion towards centain people, but her treatment of Edith (her only remaining sister was appaling), that tell us that she knew that she could be nice and kind with people but she choose the be mean with Edith, that is the exact behaviour of a bully. Also, she was intended to be portrayed as a strong and determined woman, i failed to see that, because i saw a lot of moments when practically all the household had to be behind her, encouraging in every activity that she wanted to do (after matthew´s death, marrying talbot, etc)
