I'd much rather see more of Edith. And I really want to see her relationship with her family explored. The way they treated her as a whole was never really addressed and is one of the things I would most like to see in a film.

<p>Not sure I'd want the prequel- that would require changing the actors which would be a shame. But  there could be flashbacks- or people turning up at Downton. Would love to see O'Brien back - and for her to see how dynamics have changed (Thomas getting on better without her and Mr Carson's star pupil - "I trained him"-, Mr Molesley with a respected position and about to become a married man, Mrs Patmore with a suitor, Miss Baxter a greater success than she ever was without the slightest bit of evil manipulating). </p><p>And yes, Thomas' sister would be a good one- bet she was pure poison. </p><p>Doubt Daisy had much of a family- everything seems to suggest she was an orphan. But no doubt she will start one shortly... </p>

<p>O'Brien coming back just because her new Ladyship (or Lordship) wants to make business with the Crawleys (a trainwail or something crossing the India) yesss! She doesn't need to return as staff, she could be only a companion. Or her employers are runing away because anticolonialism war or something. </p><p>Or maybe Thomas's sister is a cinnamon roll, that's why Miss Baxter was friends with. Anyway, it could be interesting to see the dinamics between Thomas-Baxter-Sister who maybe or maybe not knows Thomas' sexuality if </p><p>a) Sister is the source of all Evil and Doom </p><p>b) She's so adorkable and sugar saccarine that leaves Baxter as the Devil or </p><p>c) She's the real bitch in sheep clothing. </p><p>d) Whatever option, while Thomas is cold as an iceberg, this sibling is like a volcan exploding, hilarity issues with Carson XD </p><p>Headcanon goes for Katie McGrath or Eva Green now XD It piss me off that a character who links two quite main characters and is the main reason for one of them to be at Downton is never shown or discusses about. </p><p>Miss BaxterxMolesley and PatmorexMason are the only OTP I'm sure about will work without any problem. </p><p>As for Daisy, it is said in the wikia that she has like ten brothers and sisters and a very busy parents, that's why she projects on Mrs. Patmore. But it could be very interesting too to see a woman of her time dealing with the children/family stuff and working and having ambitions on her own, from the point of view of a servant (Edith doesn't count, she has the support and wealth of her family). Also, a bit more of Andy's background, we literally didn't know anything about him except "he's nice", "he lived at the city" and "he didn't know how to read". </p><p>And what the hell happened with Alfred-Ivy-Jimmy Kent (especially the late?). </p>

</div> <p>On the other hand, Larry and Amelia might want Amelia's parents to be their child's guardian instead of Tim. We haven't met Amelia's parents, and there is the possiblity they could be like her and Larry as opposed to Merton and Isobel (similar to Rose's elder siblings, who could be like Susan as we've never seen them). Tim and his sister-in-law's parents could clash over a child, but on the other hand one movie shouldn't be overcrowed (they could do a film series but they also might not); it might be safer if Larry and Amelia died childless, Tim becomes the heir and makes amends with his father and stepmother before marrying and siring an heir himself. </p>

<p>If it's true that Maggie Smith has agreed to take part in the movie, then surely it must be set the late 1920s  (or possibly the early 1930s.)     A World War 2 setting seems very unlikely,  although I guess it could be based around Violet's 100th birthday in 1942. </p><p>Whenever  it is,  I hope they take their time over it and get it right.   </p><p>If this first movie is successful, it could become a long-running franchise to rival James Bond and Star Trek.  Then there'd be plenty of scope to explore other storylines  (prequel, WW2, 1960s, Brancaster, Talbot Motors, what happened in Boston,  etc etc.) </p>
