I'd like to see how Thomas gets on with being butler and how his relationship unfolds with the other servants now that he's in charge.
His and George's surrogate-father-son relationship is so sweet; it really moved me in the CS when George didn't want Barrow to go. I'd like to see how their bond develops. It's the Mary and Carson surrogate-father-daughter thing all over again.
As for Baxter and Molesley, I ship them SO much, and I'm with you all the way. I'd love the idea of him proposing. We got Mr and Mrs Carson, so maybe we might just get them Mr and Mrs Molesley.
There weren't any scenes (from what I remember) of Isobel with her grandson. Surely, Isobel would play with George in the nursery. Fair enough, she might have done off-screen, but we should have seen them. I seriously hope that Fellowes inputs some bondage with Isobel and George, and we could even see George calling Dickie 'Grandpapa'.
Oh, I definitely agree. I'd also love to see some scenes with Isobel and Dickie Merton alone. I hope, if there is going to be a movie, that Fellowes explores the marriage/relationship between Lord and Lady Merton. They truly made the show for me.
After the PBS viewing of Downton on Sunday evening, they released some behind-the-scenes images, and one which realyl caught my eyes was of the Order of Service that displays Mary and Henry's middle names. We obviously know that Mary's is Josephine, but I'm trying to make out what Henry's is. Unfortunately, there's a man holding the Order of Services', and his thumb is over Henry's middle name. I can make out two letters, but that's about it. I've attached the image for you to see.
I apologise - I haven't read that post. But yes, they're all good names if they were to have a daughter. I'd suggest Violet Prudence, after Mary's paternal grandmother and Henry's aunt, or maybe Martha Isobel after Mary's maternal grandmother and George's grandmother. I'd also say that Anna would be a good choice as a middle name, possibly even Cora and Charlotte after Charlie Rogers.
Yes, I agree with HarryPotterRules1, although I do remember watching a behind-the-scenes clip that featured the making of Edith's first wedding to Strallan, and they made an Order of Service. Her middle name appeared to be 'Josephine', but I'm guessing probably Violet.
Perhaps if he were to die and he knows that he doesn't have a chance of survival, he'd like to marry Isobel on his deathbed (a similar situation to William and Daisy). That way, he'd died as a married man, although I don't think Isobel could face being a widow again. But from the trailer, there's a scene of Isobel and Lord Merton in the church - which is obviously Edith's wedding - so therefore he may be OK? And there's also a scene where he's singing next to the Christmas tree in the Great Hall, so if he were to die, it'd have to be between Christmas and New Year.
I have a fear that the "supposed" funeral could be Lord Merton, hence the terrible news that Isobel and the family receive. And in the Christmas preview, we see him dressed in his nightwear talking to Larry and Amelia. What do you guys think?
