David Robb (born on 23rd August, 1947; London, England) is the actor who plays Dr. Clarkson on Downton Abbey.

Born in London and raised in Edinburgh, Robb previously acted in Julian Fellowes' directorial debut, From Time to Time, along with Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Allen Leech, Daisy Lewis, Harriet Walter, and Christine Lohr.

Robb, Downton co-star Michael Cochrane, and Fellowes all starred in the TV series Sharpe. Cochrane appeared in several episodes as the villain Sir Henry Simmerson. Robb only appeared in the episode Sharpe's Peril (one in which Cochrane also appeared). Fellowes played two different roles in two episodes, one of which also included Cochrane.
