James Sebastian Faulkner (born 18 July, 1948) is the English actor who portrays Lord Sinderby in the fifth season of Downton Abbey.

- Faulkner previously starred in the show Da Vinci's Demons, whose cast also included Michael Culkin and a cameo by Hugh Bonneville. Bonneville and Faulkner also starred alongside Stephen Campbell Moore in an adaptation of Ben-Hur.
- He also played the lecherous Uncle Geoffrey in Bridget Jones' Diary, and recognised Daniel Cleaver as a fellow philanderer long before Bridget did.
- He voiced Severus Snape in the video game version of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
- Faulkner, Rose Leslie, Iain Glen, Ron Donachie, and Simon Lowe, who each appear in a different season of Downton, and Mark Addy, who appears in the film, all star in the series Game of Thrones. Faulkner portrays Lord Randyll Tarly.
- Faulkner starred alongside Theo James in the Underworld film series.
- He had been a guest star in Season 8 of the show Death in Paradise, in which Gary Carr (Jack Ross) had been part of the main cast.
