Jimmy Kent[1]is a footman who joins Downton in 1920 alongside O'Brien's nephew Alfred Nugent. Since Alfred is confirmed to be the first footman, replacing Thomas, that means Jimmy will be the second footman, under him. Jimmy is ambitious, vying to be first footman, and is taken under the wing of Thomas.[2] Jimmy is gay. Ivy takes a fancy to him,[3]and so does Thomas.
Jimmy will be portrayed by actor Ed Speleers.
