Jim Carter (born as James Edward Carter on 19th August 1948; Harrogate, England) is the actor who plays Charles Carson on Downton Abbey.
He starred in the television show Knightfall alongside Downton cast members Tom Cullen and Julian Ovenden.
Behind the Scenes
- Jim Carter stated in his earlier interviews that he wanted to see his character Charles Carson, and the housekeeper Elsie Hughes starting a romantic relationship and retiring together in a small cottage.
- His real life spouse (since 1983), Imelda Staunton, will be appearing in the Downton Abbey: The Movie as Lady Bagshaw. They previously starred together in Shakespeare in Love.
