Édouard, Marquis de Montmirail is a significant character in Downton Abbey: A New Era.

Biography[]

The Marquis was born in 1873 in France to the late Marquis de Montmirail and Madame de Montmirail.

Upon his father's death, he inherited the titles and land that his family had owned. He was also appointed as the sole executor of his father's last will and testament.

A New Era[]

He first appeared in the 2nd film when some of the members of the Crawley Family (led by Robert Crawley) arrived at his family's summer villa: Villa des Colombes (Villa of the Doves), which was to be turned over to the Dowager Countess' great-granddaughter, Sybbie. He warmly welcomes the family to the residence.
