Mrs. Pegg is the mother of John Pegg who would be hired by Violet as a gardener. Dr. Clarkson introduces Mrs. Pegg and her daughter Greta to her after she started working at the clinic. This scene sets up how Isobel first becomes aware of the plight of the Peggs and goes on to implore Violet to hire the son in the subsequent episode.
