References

  1. The article confirms that most of her scenes are towards the end of series 3, meaning they are, most likely, set in 1921, so, as she is appearing, she has to have been born before 1921, and given that she looks to be 20, we can say her birthdate is about 1901.
  2. In the article announcing that Lily James has joined Downton she states that she "likes being a brunette again" so Rose MUST be brown haired.
  3. Rosamund and Marmaduke had no children, so Rose has to be Cora's niece and thus Robert's niece through his marriage to Cora
  4. When Sybil states that she feels sorry for her aunt, Mary states that she doesn't and says that she'd love to "be alone in a big house in Eaton Squarw with all that money"'; this means that Rosamund is alone after being widowed and has no children, so Rose CANNOT be Rosamund's daughter otherwise Rosamund would NOT be alone, and thus, must be a niece of Cora and Robert would be her uncle by marriage
