Shirley MacLaine (born as Shirley MacLean Beaty on 24th April, 1934; Richmond, Virginia, USA) is an American actress who portrays the mother of Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham, Martha Levinson. She first appears in Series 3 of Downton Abbey.

Biography

Shirley MacLaine was born to Virginia native Ira Owens Beaty, an American, and Kathlyn Corinne MacLean, from Nova Scotia, Canada. Her brother, Warren Beatty, was born on March 30, 1937.
