Talbot and Branson Motors is the automobile shop set up by Henry Talbot and Tom Branson in York, England. Initially they are handling used cars and repairs, but expect to expand into new car sales and possibly even manufacturing. Henry would work there full time, while Tom would alternate between it and the estate.
In 1927, Tom opens the dealership (Henry being in Chicago for a car show), and he is approached by Major Chetwode, who inquires about the royal visit and tries to get Tom to ask if he feels loyal to the Crown, citing Tom's Irish Republican sympathies and background. Tom replies he is loyal to Lord Grantham, and Chetwode tells him they will meet again before leaving.
