Oh for heaven's sake! "Pudding" isn't "English slang" for dessert, it's what well-bred and educated British people call what you Americans call "dessert". For them dessert is the fruit course that comes at the end of a several-course dinner.



It will never cease to amaze me that Americans admire the British "upper classes" so much, yet don't get a thing right about their lifestyle.
