There were more remote collaterals descended from the Very Rev. Charles Talbot, a first cousin of the 1st Earl Talbot.
It can be assumed that Henry was born in or before 1890 and his father in 1865 or earlier. The Hon. Gerald Chetwynd Talbot (born 1819) married Margaret Mackay in 1840 and his first son Charles Alexander Price was born on 22 March 1842. That doesn't leave much space for Henry's grandfather to be a fictional elder son of Gerald. It's more likely Henry is descended from a fictional brother (born 1818) of the 18th Earl. His father would need to have three elder brothers or male cousins living, who would be 36th to 38th in line, after the descendants of Sir Patrick Talbot (born 1817) and before Henry's father, Henry, and the historical 36th to 42nd in line shown above, who would be bumped down to 41st–47th places.
