Miss Wilkins is Susan MacClare, Marchioness of Flintshire's lady's maid at Duneagle Castle when the Crawley family went to visit the castle.[1] She primarily appears to be happy to meet Sarah O'Brien: "It's a treat to have a kindred spirit come to stay, it really is." She however does not wish to go to Bombay and does not respect Lady Flintshire, as Wilkins says she always makes a fuss.
Later, however, she grows bitterly jealous of O'Brien due to the attention Susan pays her when asking for O'Brien's help with her hair style. She spikes Sarah's drink during the Gillies Ball with whiskey that she got from Nield. However Sarah realizes what has been done and doesn't finish the drink. Joseph Molesley drinks it and goes wild. O'Brien asks Wilkins if she's proud, and she is glad that she does not need to feel loyal to her.
Notes
- When O'Brien sneaks away from Downton Abbey to be lady's maid to Susan in India, it means Wilkins either resigned or was fired.
